SUPERIOR, Arizona (SmallTownPapers) -- Walter Robert Bebout Byers of Kearny, who was born in Washington, Pennsylvania and lived most of his life in Lancaster, Ohio, died Jan. 19, 2012, at the age of 76.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nellee; son, Gary Dean Byers of Silver Creek; daughter, Nellana Christina Byers of Mesa; Chandee Chalet's "Byers (Thomas) Burton" of New York; and, grandchildren, Bobby Gerard Lake Byers Oliver, Justin Adam Scott of New York and Dakota Colt Scott of New York.

Walter retired from Asarco as an Electric Diesel Mechanic. He and his wife were Country and Western musicians with Desert Country. He was an active member as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Walter's memorial was held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 1 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 805 Griffin, Winkelman.
